Schedule
Here are some highlights of the clinical schedule for our residents. Interns in the categorical and preliminary tracks have identical schedules.
4+1 Schedule
Housestaff rotate on a four-week block and then spend 1 week (“+1”) in the ambulatory clinics. There is no call every fifth weekend on the +1 block.
Continuity Consolidated on +1
All primary care continuity clinics are scheduled during the “+1” week. This allows for improved continuity with primary care patients. Also, there is less disruption when on other rotations.
Dedicated Night Shifts
Inpatient intern night duties are assigned only during ICU and Night Float rotations. There is no home call.
OV + UCLA + VA
In addition to Olive View, all residents have the opportunity to rotate at each of these clinical sites: Ronald Reagan-UCLA, Santa Monica-UCLA, and the West Los Angeles VA.
