Outpatient Curriculum

The outpatient curriculum centers on the Ambulatory Medicine “+1” Week. This one-week rotation occurs every 5th week in the 4+1 schedule, providing ample time for longitudinal patient care and learning.

 

Ambulatory Medicine Week

The Ambulatory Medicine “+1” Week rotation is designed to provide 50% general medicine/continuity clinics and 50% subspecialty and other experiences.

 

Primary Care Clinic

Residents care for a panel of continuity patients at Olive View or Mid-Valley. Both are part of the county health system. Residents gain robust experience in primary care for underserved patients under the model of the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).

8:00 – 12:00 pm Primary care, subspecialty, or urgent care clinic

1:00 – 5:00 pm General medicine, subspecialty, or urgent care clinic

Emergency and Urgent Care

Residents rotate through the Emergency Room and Urgent Care Clinic at Olive View, gaining clinical experience with acute medical conditions and procedures.
