Dr. Kayano grew up in Los Angeles and earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency here at Olive View-UCLA and stayed on as a full time hospitalist attending. Dr. Kayano is actively involved in teaching medical students and continues in his role as clerkship director for 4th year DGSOM medical students and the UCLA IMG program site director.
He is the recipient of multiple teaching awards as an attending. His clinical and academic interests include medical education, point of care ultrasonography, and patient safety. Outside of work, Dr. Kayano enjoys spending time with family, surfing, and playing golf.
