Meet the Faculty

Arash Nafisi, MD

Dr. Nafisi is a clinician educator who is passionate about providing care for underserved communities in an academic setting.

He received his Bachelors of Science degree from UCLA and his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Nafisi completed his internship and residency training at Einstein / Montefiore’s Primary Care / Social Internal Medicine program in 2013 and is currently working on completing his Medical Education Fellowship at UCLA.

As a general internist, Dr. Nafisi provides direct patient care and precepts residents in the outpatient setting and also attends on the inpatient wards. He has taken a leading role in shaping the Internal Medicine residency outpatient curriculum. His interests include medical education, evidence based medicine, clinical reasoning, patient-centered communication, screening and prevention, psychosocial medicine, global health and human rights.

Dr. Nafisi is a certified faculty member at the Institute for Healthcare Communication and a member of the Olive View Medical Executive Committee as well as the Clinical Competency, Housestaff Education and Applicant Review Committees.
